God's Two Witnesses

EPHESIANS 6:11-12
"Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.  For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places."

Have you stopped in these difficult days to ask Almighty God the Creator, what in the world is happening, and what is going on?  If you haven't as yet, check your inward radar because there is a lot to be concerned about in our world.  Our Scripture above is giving us a warning that sounds very urgent to me.  How do you see it?  When Jesus walked on this earth teaching and instructing His disciples about His Father, His Second Coming, and the End of this Age, they asked these very same questions.  As He sat on the Mount of Olives, their questions and Jesus' answers appears for our examination in Matthew 24:3-44.  Get your Bible and read this passage so you can better understand the Spiritual War the apostle Paul is speaking of in our key passage above in Ephesians.  Jesus foretold that all we are experiencing would come.

Jesus answered their questions and His answer applies to us in our time.  This passage identifies who and what we are up against.  Read it, and then sit and ponder if what Jesus told them is not what you see every day taking place.  He is describing a spiritual battle with the devil and his hosts of fallen demon angels who seek every day to destroy those that love God..  Give this good thought...Jesus gave the disciples a long address of "Future Prophecy!"  The Devil and his demons are determined to take us down with him in his final destruction.  So, he is "on our case" so to speak, night and day!  That is what is going on!!  What we see happening in our world today and it is definitely a "spiritual battle!"  Our fight is not with flesh and blood, people we can see, but spiritual demons in the dark heavenly places.  We must be equipped!

There is a caution that we must never forget, and Peter gives warning to us about it in 1 Peter 5:8,9.  "Be of sober spirit, be on the alert.  Your adversary, the devil, prowls about like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour,"  Now, that is a serious warning!  Are you listening?  Well, I am.  Another timely question to ask ourselves is...If Jesus Christ won the victory, at Calvary's Cross, why then are we still in a serious battle of war?  The Answer:  We live according to God's timetable.  He alone knows the exact moment of Satan and his demons final defeat.  So then, His victory is ours on a daily basis as we learn to walk in the same Spirit as Christ walked, as we claim that victory daily until we go to Him in death or He returns and calls us unto Himself.  Your next smart question to ask is...Why did He come in the first place?  The Answer:  It was to personally identify with us, our needs, our heartaches, our joys, and also, even our failures.  Although He never suffered defeat, He surely knew what it was like to be Separated from the Father.  When He was on the Cross, for a brief moment, He was separated from God as he bore our sins, as the Holy Father had to look away from our sins He bore for us.  However, it is awesome for us to know that death could not hold Him.  He canceled out mankind's sin debt with His atoning blood, and that set the stage for the Devil's final defeat.  He will be finally destroyed as the Bible tells of this future prophecy in Gen. 3:15 (Stop and read it).  It tells of Satan's demise.  But, until such time, Satan is out to "devour" you and me every chance he and his demons get!  

THAT IS THE WAR EPHESIANS IS WARNING US ABOUT, AND IT IS SPIRITUAL!  HUMANS CANNOT SEE SATAN AND HIS DEMON WARRIORS AND THAT IS WHAT MAKES THIS WAR SO VERY CRUCIAL AND HARD TO FIGHT.  SO, WE MUST BE ALERT AND AWAKE!  OUR GOD UNDERSTANDS OUR BATTLE AND HAS PROVIDED HIS ONLY SON TO GIVE US THE STRENGTH TO FIGHT.  HE TELLS US FOR OUR SAFETY TO PUT ON THE WHOLE ARMOR OF GOD TO FIGHT IN THIS CONSTANT BATTLE.  (READ EPH. 6: 10-18)  VERSE 18 IS VERY IMPORTANT TO REMEMBER..."PRAY AT ALL TIMES AND EVERY OCCASION IN THE POWER OF THE HOLY SPIRIT.  STAY ALERT AND BE PERSISTENT IN YOUR PRAYERS FOR ALL CHRISTIANS EVERYWHERE."  ALSO, IF YOU DO NOT KNOW JESUS AS YOUR PERSONAL SAVIOR, STOP RIGHT NOW, AND ASK HIM TO FORGIVE YOU OF YOUR SINS.  ASK HIM TO COME INTO YOUR HEART RIGHT NOW, YOU CAN'T SAVE YOURSELF.  TELL HIM YOU WILL FROM THIS DAY ON LIVE YOUR LIFE FOR HIM.
